Eating and drinking in Bali

Banana pancakes! They are usually cooked as a thin, plate-sized pancake/crepe with sliced banana and either honey or chocolate sauce on-top. So yummy and light to start your day.

My favourite place for breakfast or lunch is Single Fin in Ulwatu for a Nulu bowl.

Smoothies – I was spoilt for choice each day of which smoothies or juices to try, but my favourite by miles was either a chocolate + peanut butter shake or banana + chocolate shake. Delicious!

– Lunch –

As the menu tends to be the same for lunch and dinner and their portions here always generous, we normally ordered an Indonesian meal like a rice dish or western dish like sandwiches to share.

Pizza – tasty and great for sharing. Watch out for the spicy red sauce you are normally offered too and don’t mistake it for ketchup!

To drink, either a smoothie or Bintang! ( never too early ?) the one above is a strawberry smoothie with liquid sugar to add as required.

Mie Goreng – meaning ‘fried noodles’ was my go-to dish in Bali. Tasty but not spicy, you can choose to have it with chicken ‘ayam’, vegetables or fish.

Small bottles cost around 15k in a supermarket, 30k in a restaurant. Large, 30k supermarket, 45k restaurant.

San Miguel Light is similar to Corona but much cheaper, 50k compared to 70k. For 70k you can order a cocktail or glass of wine.
