As I’m attempting to stay as healthy as possible whilst travelling, I’m always on the look out for tasty and healthy treats to try. After much researching and searching, I’ve defiantly found the perfect thing, Bali’s first acai bowl.
Single Fin is a popular, hip place to find these smoothie bowls, called Nalu bowls which are sourced using local ingredients. There are three locations to choose from Uluwatu, Seminyak and Canggu. I visited Uluwatu and the cafe overlooked the sea so you can watch the surfers catching the big waves whilst you devour your delicious bowl.
Single Fin is named after the Hawaiian word for ‘wave,’ and each bowl is named after the owner’s favourite waves from around the world. What a cool idea!
I had a J-Bay bowl which contained peanut butter (which I love!), banana, honey and soya milk topped with homemade granola. It was as delicious as it looks and as a bonus, satisfied my peanut butter craving!
Kevin, my husband, had a Pipeline bowl which had banana, pineapple, mango, fresh coconut meat, coconut milk and coconut water topped with homemade granola and coconut flakes. I obviously had to try some for research purposes and thought it tasted like a pina-colada in a bowl – yummy!
I would highly recommend trying one of these Nalu bowls if you are in the area. If not, get that blender out and attempt your own at home!
